Meagan runs Meagan Louise Photography. She's a local family, wedding and event photographer in Wentworth, New South Wales and a mum of 2 little girls. She started her business at 19 and had been a sole trader for over 6 years when we met. She runs it around her girls and a part time job.
Where she started
We started working together in September 2025. Her second daughter was weeks old.
"So before Mira I just literally gave birth to my second daughter she was 6 weeks old when we connected and she slid into my dm's and rest was history."Meagan
Her onboarding answers were short. She wanted to get better at socials, get more followers and enquiries and build a community. Success was 1000+ followers on Instagram. When I asked what felt stuck she wrote 4 words.
"Managing time for personal life."Meagan · September 2025
The drive was already there. She'd nearly gone back to a 9 to 5 after her first baby.
"Fell prego with the second and something in me changed, like no Meagan you can do this if you put my mind to it!"Meagan · October 2025
"As a sole trader and the only person in my biz gets lonely."Meagan
The first round
She came in with a lot of ideas and a big spring ahead. We put them in order. A launch calendar for her new studio. A monthly subscription for her returning families. A separate Instagram for Santa season with clear lead up content so it stopped being a guessing game. Clearer terms for her Santa families and matching tees for her Santa crew.
That Christmas was the biggest season of her career. She told the live call about it this year.
In the middle of it she messaged me. I told her the season wasn't the problem. The load she'd put on herself before it and during it was.
"But you get so caught up in a bubble you forget that there's other things. She's a light that I needed in that little dark place."Meagan
She took a break over Christmas.
The Mini
She signed back on in May 2026 for the Mini. Her baby was 10 months old and she was working a part time job 2 days a week. She had 10 to 14 hours a week for her business. Every Mini client fills out an in depth onboarding form before we start. These are her answers.
"I do, but I don't, I'm now realising with 2 little ones I cannot keep winging it."Meagan · Onboarding form
Her biggest challenge was getting regular bookings. Where she felt the most overwhelmed was her own organisation.
"I think just how un organised I am and have been over the last 6+ years."Meagan · Onboarding form
When I asked who she helps she wrote people who want professional photos without paying an arm and a leg. When I asked what makes her different she wrote "Unsure of this one". The 1 thing she wanted solved was getting clients booked in. Success was a structure with 1k Instagram followers as a bonus.
"Just help me get out of the loop hole I've been doing for years......."Meagan · Onboarding form
Her first check in said the same thing.
"Current set up for posting is creating a post when I remember. I've never had structure."Meagan · May 2026
"Currently as we speak nothing to promote minis other than word of mouth and a few random stories here's and there."Meagan · May 2026
We gave her week a shape. 4 feed posts with 1 job each. Stories 3 to 4 days a week with her mini sessions mentioned every week. Albums on her phone for her session images, reviews and behind the scenes so a story takes 2 minutes. Set days for editing, content and admin.
It didn't click straight away. The first few weeks went to sick kids and her end of financial year books. By July she'd scheduled her first full week of posts.
Then we got specific. Her content started speaking to local mums like her. I pitched her an in home session called The Little Years At Home and she had it launched within 10 days. She sent her subscription to her loyal families before anyone else. She started showing up in her local community and she raised her prices.
"Starting to actually see who I am. A mum in biz and nothing is perfect so why not show that!"Meagan · July 2026
The bookings
The Mini runs in writing. She sends me her check in every Monday and Thursday and I coach her on it the same day. This is what that looks like in my inbox.
Every check in has a wins section. In July it started with this.
Then the bookings came.
6 bookings in under 7 days. 5 bookings and 10 enquiries in 1 check in. 2 weddings booked for 2027. All of it in 10 to 14 hours a week around 2 little girls and a part time job.
Not every enquiry booked the first time. We worked on following them up. This is what 1 round of follow ups did.
Where she's at now
Meagan is still in the Mini and on our live group calls. In September she drove 650 kilometres to The Mummy CEO Live. She's getting enquiries face to face at local events and she's booked until the end of the year.
I asked her to tell me where she's at in her own words.
Posting when she remembered in May. 2 to 3 enquiries a week and fully booked until the end of the year by October.
She came in posting when she remembered.
She left me this review.
"Having a biz and juggling mum life is definitely a challenge and something I'm still juggling today but Mira, she gets it. She's there every step of the way."Meagan
